The Mask Walkthrough

First off, I would like to say that it is best to complete Jabu-Jabu’s belly dungeon and get the 3rd spiritual stone before you start this. This will make it easier and you wont be getting nearly as mad!

The four masks that you have to sell are the:

1)Keaton Mask (Why oh WHY did they have to make it look like Pikachu?)
2)Skull Mask
3)Spooky Mask
4)Bunny Hood (Why anyone would want this is beyond my comprehension)

Link, as a CHILD (hint hint) Has the option of buying masks after talking to the gatekeeper at the start of the trail to Death Mountain. Saying that his little boy has been pestering him for a popular mask...some Kea....character. Very popular.

You go to the Happy Mask shop and withstand the annoying face the salesperson gives you and he is nice enough to let you borrow, and if at all possible, sell the Keaton Mask!

You wear the mask for the guard and TADA! You sell the mask for 15 ruppees. You make your way back to the mask shop and return. The salesperson sees that you sold that mask, and asks for 10 ruppees for the loan fee. You made a 5 ruppee profit.

Next, you have the option of borrowing the Skull mask. If you are aware of this, the skull kid in the lost woods is depressed about his face and wants a cool mask for him to wear. Well, you show him the mask and bingo, the skull kid is impressed by it so much that he wants to buy it....for 10 ruppees. You return to the Happy Mask Shop and pay the 20 ruppee loan fee. You lost money on this trade.

Afterwards, you have the option of borrowing the Spooky mask. If you recall the little boy in the graveyard who wants to be like Dampe, you show your new Spooky mask to him. He is so happy when he sees it that he buys it for 30 ruppees! You return to the mask shop and pay back the loan fee of 30 ruppees...you made even on this trade.

Now, you have the option of borrowing the Bunny Hood. This is the trick part. The marathon runner ONLY appears after you get the third spiritual stone. (Thats why i said to finish your first mission as child Link) Wear the bunny hood all night (This will prevent those annoying stalkids from coming out...don’t ask me why, please) You catch up with the marathon runner when he takes a break at night and present him with the bunny hood. He falls in love with it, saying that the wilderness will make him the best runner in the world....or something like that. So now....he fills up your wallet. Make sure you have the Giant’s wallet (see Golden Skulltula Guide) and that it is EMPTY....his payment will fill any wallet you possess! Now, go back to the mask shop and pay back the wimpy 50 ruppee loan fee.

Now, you can borrow any mask he has, anytime. The masks cannot be resold, but you can show them to people and get many interesting responses!

The Mask of Truth, when you wear it will allow you to talk to those odd shaped gossip stones that tell you the time. Some of them yield clues...very good clues, but some (well, most) of them just tell you junk stuff.

Good Luck (if you need it) in selling the masks, and enjoy!
