Zelda64 Boss Tactics

Below is a spoiler on how to defeat all of the bosses. Only read if you are having serious trouble! You HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Gohma

Gohma is the first boss in the game. Because you only have a mere three hearts, it would be wise to take your time with this fight. There are patches of wild grass growing along the edges of the arena, and should keep you alive, and supplied until the match is over. To kill gohma, wait until her eye turns red, then throw down a deku nut. This will stun her/it. Now run over to her/it’s dazed body and hack and slash until she retreats. She will then climb the ceiling, when her eye turns red, shoot it with the sling shot. She will fall to the ground and be dazed again. Finisher her/it off! (Note: If you couldn’t hit her eye with a deku seed from your sling shot, she will lay gohma larve. Kill these and Gohma will drop down to fight again)

King Dodongo

King dodongo, the biggest boss in the game, and also one of the easiest bosses in the game! To kill this monster, throw a bomb in his mouth when he opens it wide. He will fall to the ground stunned. Then one of those nice, high-powered jump attacks does very well here. At this point, he will curl up into a ball and roll around the room. Do yourself a favor and be safe by standing at the edge of the lava pool. Follow him, and repeat this a total of 3 or 4 times. He should fall in no time.

Barinade

Barinade is the toughest enemy you’ve fought thus far. To defeat it, angle your boomerang at the tentacles that attach it to the ceiling. After all 3 tentacles are destroyed, you must start to attack the core. It will lay on the ground and shoot electricity at you. Angle your boomerang, and try to hit the target. (Use “Z” targeting...do yourself a favor) Now bari will be all over the room, destroy these before they start to become the armor to barinade again. Once all of the bari are destroyed, Barinade will bounce around the room shooting electricity. Stay close to it and stun it with the boomerang. Then, while its blue, hack/slash/slice/dice or whatever to whittle down Barinade’s health.

Phantom Ganon

Phantom ganon is a pain. First off, you have to get rid of his horse. He will ride in the pictures and try to attack you. Problem is, there is a decoy too! To tell wether or not, it is the real Phantom Ganon, look for the one that has color. When it tries to leap out of the painting, shoot it with an arrow. Do this 3 times and then the actual fight begins! Phantom ganon will fly around the room shooting balls of energy at you. You must deflect these back at phantom ganon by swiping them with your sword. When you finally score a hit, he will fall to the ground dazed. One of those nice, high-powered jump attacks will do just fine here! Repeat this until he dies.

Volvagia

Volvagia is the toughest enemy this far in the game. When it pokes it head out of the holes in the ground, greet it with a nice smash on the head with your new megaton hammer. This will really stun it. Now (If you have one of the high powered swords, Biggoron’s sword, or the Giants Knife) Jump attack! Master sword will do just fine, but it would take some fun out of it. Anyway, it will now retreat....and do one of two attacks. 1) It will cause boulders to fall down, so stay near the edges of the stone slab. Or 2) it will fly around the room, shooting fire. If it flies around the room and shoots fire, shoot it’s head with an arrow, and it will stop immediately. Keep the pressure up and Volvagia will fall to your feet and gravel.

Morpha

To defeat morpha, stand on the edges of the pool, not in the center. And when the actual monster stays still to create water tentacles, shoot it with your longshot. This will drag it to you at which point, you should be able to slash it once or twice before it retreats (that coward!) Watch out for the tentacles and avoid the spikes lining the wall. Repeat the process of using the longshot, and slashing it about 9-12 times. Morpha really isn’t much of a challenge.

Bongo Bongo

Bongo Bongo will start beating the arena like a bongo drum with the enormous hands. Shoot the hands with your bow and arrows. They will turn blue in pain, at this point, equip your Lens of Truth...this will reveal the main body. It will charge at you, shoot it with an arrow. Then jump attack it! Repeat this over and over to score a win!

Twinrova

Koume shoots fire, and Kotake shoots ice. With this in mind, use your mirror shield to reflect the ice magic onto the fire witch, and the fire onto the ice witch. After a couple of hits, they get serious and fuse together. Now watch out, Twinrova will fly around the room, shooting fire and ice at you. You must stand in the middle platform and collect 3 of the same spell. After 3 spells have been collected, the energy will automatically reflect back...aim toward the witch and she will fall down stunned. Now’s your chance to hack/slash/slice&dice! Do this until she dies. Then watch the funny cinema! LoL!

Ganondorf

Ganondorf...this is what it all comes down to. THE final fight! (Or is it?) As soon as the fight begins, dash towards one of the corners ASAP! He will punch the ground and some of the platforms will fall! Now, you must reflect the energy balls he shoots at you back at him (as you did with Phantom Ganon) Except, when he does get hit with his own energy, he will not fall down, stunned, you must shoot him with a light arrow. NOW, he is stunned. Jump over to the central platform and attack. Do this repeatively to finish him off.

Ganon

THIS is what it’s all about! Ganon, after he knocks the master sword from your hands will begin to attack you! Using the megaton hammer (Biggorons sword works too) You must get behind ganon and pound/slash his tail until he falls to the ground, at which point you can collect the lost sacred weapon. After you pick it up, ganon is faster, stronger, and seems to know your movements. Instead of rolling through his legs (which you should have done in the first round), you must shoot his face with a Light arrow. This will stun him long enough for you to get behind and hit his tail! After he falls this time...watch what happens. You .....(ah, i wont spoil it!)
