Majora's Mask Boss Tactics

Each boss in this game is totally different from one another, so various techniques will HAVE to be used to defeat each one.

Odolwa: Boss of the Woodfall Temple

Odolwa seems like a tough boss at first. Having a huge shield and sword, he definitely has range over your attacks. His sword slashes on the other hand are surprisingly weak, only dealing 1/4 of a heart per slash. The best way to defeat him is to play as Human Link, and wait until he pauses to dance or whatever. Then give him a jump attack. The boss should be dazed for another jump attack. If you can get about 3 jump attacks off of Odolwa, you are well on your way to defeating him. At this point, he cheats, calling in reinforcements. Wait for the little spiders to come to you then when they close in on you, use the spin slash (360+B to perform a spin slash that does not consume magic) After all the spiders are gone, concentrate on Odolwa again. After another jump attack series, he should be dead, but if he isn’t, he will summon little parasites to hinder your progress. These do absolutely no damage, but the do distract you. Keep up the pressure and Odolwa will fall to your knees in no time!

Goht: Boss of the Snowhead Temple

Goht is one mean boss. To start the fight, shoot Goht with a fire arrow to unfreeze it. It will run around the boss arena (which is like a huge doughnut shaped cavern). Transform into Goron Link and prepare for some wild goron rolling!! Wait until the spikes produce from your goron form and then ram into Ghot at full speed! Dodge left and right to avoid the lightning he shoots back at you. After about 5 hits, Goht will fall down. At this point, Become Human Link and use repeated Jump slashes until Goht is back up on his feet. When Goht gets back up, he will run faster, and will kick up rocks from the ground and (if you managed to hit him with about 3-5 jump attacks) he will throw down bombs as well! Become Goron Link again and then prepare to move in the opposite direction as Goht. Head-on collisions! After about 5-6 more hits, he will retire, running directly into a wall and yielding your customary Heart Container, and your warp protal.

Gyorg: Boss of the Great Bay Temple

Gyorg is a pain. First, to start off, I suggest you go into battle with Gyorg with at least 1 fairy and 1 red potion. Just to be safe. Gyorg’s attacks aren’t very pleasing to your health meter. When you start off, transform into Zora Link and dive into the water. Get a lock on Gyorg and then shoot the boomerangs. If they hit it head on, Gyorg will fall down stunned. Run up to it and punch it. Now Gyorg will retaliate. Try to dodge his attacks as best you can, because if he swallows you, say bye-bye to about 2 hearts! 4-5 zora punches later, Gyorg will spit out bony fish. Wait for the fist to come to you, raise your shield and then when they all gather, hold down the “B” button for about 1.5 seconds. There, small fish problem solved. Pick up the hearts they left behind and get back to fighting Gyorg. Repeat the process of boomerangs to stun, punch to hurt another 3-4 times and the boss will give up. Yippie!! You just beat the Great Bay Temple! (That fairy and red potion came in handy didn’t they?)

Twinmold: Boss of the Stone Tower Temple

As I said earlier on this page, each boss is totally different from the last, and Twinmold is no exception. It is the largest, longest, and probably simplest boss fight in the game. I suggest entering the boss room with a green potion and a red potion, or if possible, a bottle of Chateau Romani. Watch your magic meter, because your Giant’s mask will be getting a work out! If you find yourself running low on magic, as Giant Link slash one of the stone structures to yield supplies, hearts and the precious magic bottles. As a giant, you can fight this boss the way this boss was meant to be fought! There are 2 worms. Concentrate on one at a time. Each worm has 2 weak spots: Their Heads, and their Tails. With this said, attack those two areas on one worm at a time until it fall down dead. Then hit the other worm. (All the while your Giant’s mask is using up magic) If you are completely drained on Magic, as Human Link, fire arrows at their soft spots. Now, after hitting each worm about 5-6 times, it will die, and you will get what you deserve! A heart container and your warp portal!

Majora’s Mask

This is one interesting boss fight. The guardian masks will leave your possession and fly onto the walls. Don’t worry about these right now. Majora’s Mask is only vulnerable when it shows its backside. Problem is, you cant get to it’s backside. So what you must do, is wait for it to attack you by spinning on the ground. When it comes at you, use a spin slash to ensure it is stunned. Now, run up to it and give it a nice high-powered jump attack! (Gilded Sword, Great Fairy’s sword work very well here!) After about 2 of such attacks, the four guardian masks will fly around the room and will attempt to shoot energy blasts at you. Hit each guardian mask with about 3-4 arrows to destroy it. After all 4 guardian masks are gone, Majora’s Mask adds a new attack to it’s arsenal. It will shoot fire at you! Use your mirror shield and reflect the fire onto Majora’s Mask. Do this about 5 times and Majora’s Mask will transform into....

Majora’s Incarnation

The mask sprouts legs and a primitive head. This majora is quick, so time your arrows carefully when you try to stun it. It will stop and be dazed for a while. Now’s your chance for a Jump attack or two. If you want to save arrows, get closer to it, and when it tries to run past, slash it. If you are able to hit it, it will be stunned for another serious beating. 4-5 jump attacks with the Gilded sword later, Majora’s Incarnation will fall and transform into....

Majora’s Wrath

This is it! The last fight of the game! Those whips can deal some serious damage! Have your shield raised at all times and close in on Majora so that the whips minimum range is breached. Now all you have to watch out for is when Majora’s Wrath tries to kick you. This will knock you way back. To defeat it, wait until it is about to attack, then fire an arrow, OR close in on it and give it a spin slash (If you collected all 15 fairies in the Woodfall temple and have the enhanced spin slash, this will work wonders, due to the range of the attack) If you hit it, it will be stunned. Jump attack, stab, slash, slice, dice or whatever you can to rip away at Majora’s health. This Majora has a TON of health. Taking about 7 jump attacks with the Gilded sword! Try to get multiple hits off when you can. If you go too long without trying to attack, it will release spinning spikes. If you go longer without attacking, Majora’s Wrath will scream and the screen will be filled with motion blur for about 4-6 seconds! Keep the pressure up! (Take a fairy into these fights if you want to make sure you come out on top!) Many, many attacks later, Majora’s Wrath will yield and you can watch the ending cinemas where you see....(oops, im not going to give it away!)
